Megan Mulrooney has over 22 years of experience in Business and Industry, particularly in the Vocational Education sector. As the CEO of COMPACT Incorporated, she has designed and delivered successful youth-focused career development events and meaningful workplace learning opportunities. Megan is dedicated to identifying and addressing the career and social development needs of young people, especially in regional areas. She has built extensive relationships with key education, industry, and government partners. As YFN Chair, she is committed to fostering these partnerships to benefit youth in NSW.

Melissa Hughes has over 25 years of experience in the youth services sector, currently serving as CEO of Connect Northern Rivers. Previously, she worked as a Careers Adviser for over 14 years. Melissa is passionate about creating inclusive and supportive environments for young people, ensuring access to education, employment, social services, and community engagement. She supports innovative programs that address diverse youth needs. As Deputy Chair of the YFN, Melissa aims to foster collaboration among members to enhance support and opportunities for young people across the network.

Samantha King

Samantha King has over 20 years of experience working with young people, drawing from her background in community services, events, and hospital support. She leads Youth Up Front with strong collaboration skills, engaging strategically with local, state, and federal governments. Samantha excels in advocacy, collaborative practice, and social impact. Her work focuses on student engagement, career and transition support, and industry exploration. Although based in Sydney, she also supports youth in Central Western NSW. As a representative of the Youth Futures Network, she is dedicated to advancing career support for all young people.

John Purcell

John Purcell is the CEO of Career Links, focusing on creating employment pathways for young people transitioning from school to work in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region. As a founding board member since 1998, John has served as CEO for 12 years. With over 40 years of experience, he has managed RTOs, GTOs, and youth-focused organisations across NSW and other states. John is also the Chair of the Suicide Prevention Network – Lake Macquarie and Newcastle, Vice Chair of the I Am Here (IAH) Foundation, and a Director of the Youth Futures Network (YFN), where he has held roles as Vice Chair, Chair, and Secretary. He is passionate about helping young people succeed, believing in the importance of guiding them toward rewarding paths. John’s commitment to youth development positively impacts individuals and communities through the collaborative efforts of YFN and its stakeholders.

He has 20 years of board-level experience in youth not-for-profit leadership and management. Gregory holds an MBA in Corporate and Not-for-Profit Strategy and Governance. He has successfully achieved organisational growth and strategy implementation in competitive markets. As YFN Operations Officer, Gregory is committed to executing the organisation’s strategic plan, expanding stakeholder reach, and benefiting members and other stakeholders.
